The Alfa Romeo 8C can be considered as one of the most famous sports cars of the 1930s. The name of the car derives from the power unit adopted: a 2,336 cc supercharged 8-cylinder in-line engine with compressor that became an icon in the automotive landscape of the period. The 8C could in fact be considered the "state of the art" in terms of technology, technical solutions and performance. Characterized by extraordinary road holding and excellent reliability, Alfa Romeo achieved significant sporting victories on numerous international circuits and linked its name to the famous Mantuan driver Tazio Nuvolari. Among the best known companies the victory in the Targa Florio in 1931 and in the Italian Grand Prix. This latest victory also contributed to the name of the two-seater car GP side by side which, to celebrate the feat, was called "Monza". From the competition version, a production batch of nearly 200 vehicles was also created for the road market.
