Piko 52445 - Diesel locomotive D.141.1004, FS
Diesel locomotive D.141.1004 of the State Railways.
Epoch V.
The original: Starting in 1962, under the direction of Fiat Grandi Motori, various Italian manufacturers built a total of 29 new diesel-electric machines for the FS State Railways. The heart of the locomotive was a diesel engine, produced by Fiat under license on a Daimler-Benz project, with a power output of just under 600 HP. The machines were assigned to the depots of Venice, Verona, Genoa and Trieste. While the Genoese and Triestine units mainly carried out maneuvering services, those of Venice and Verona also carried out light, freight and local trains. In scheduled service, starting from the mid-1970s, the series was replaced by the more powerful D.345; in the shunting services, however, these locomotives remained in full operation until the threshold of the new millennium. With the subsequent decline of the single wagon freight service, many shunting locomotives became superfluous: thus, even for this group, provisions began.
The model: After the D.145, with the D.141, which was a few years earlier, there is now another completely new model of Italian shunting locomotive. Its aesthetic characteristics, together with the meticulous PIKO reproduction fidelity, promise an exciting and functional model at the same time. Already, one fact is clear: with its very precise engravings, the impeccable finesse of the details and the perfect rendering of the livery, this model will catch the eye on any model. The lights with automatic white / red inversion and other lighting functions, digitally switchable - all, of course, in state-of-the-art LED technology - will ensure even more fun. The model is equipped with a DCC decoder with sound. If you wish to apply them, you will also find the additional details to complete the boards as per original.
