Ketch of the Baltic - Scotland, a boat that dates back to the late 1700s, belongs to the category of Baltic Ketch-Yachts and was used essentially for the transport of goods and passengers even on the most important rivers and lakes. Although it is a purely "work" boat, so called because it is mainly used for commercial purposes, Scotland was distinguished between the multitude of different types of relatively small boats, ie between 50 and 60 feet long, for the imposing sail and the pleasant and soft lines of the hull. Chapman himself, in a note dated 1775, cited this type of ship for its use, but called it "Galeas, a Baltic Vessel".
